I started this blog as a recommendation from a trading buddy. I found a few accountability partners while learning to day trade futures, and we would discuss trading and share accountability reports. Many of them said reading my accountability reports were helpful. Sometimes they found things that could help them in their own journey, or they found examples of things NOT to do. I’m hoping that you are able to learn from both my wins and losses or from my successes and failures.
In general, I want to provide a different perspective to what has become the norm in the futures prop firm industry. While most are chasing large and fast payouts (which if you can do this consistently then great!), some would actually be better served going slower. –
My goals of this blog
- Share my own personal journey while I pursue slow and steady profits.
- Use this blog to keep myself accountable.
- Encourage others that actually want to pursue a slower path.
- Prove to myself that I can achieve healthy and sustainable day trading, otherwise quit and make use of my time elsewhere.
A little more about me:
I first started in the markets in 2007, primarily as an equity investor. The key word being investor (I like to hold long term). I am mostly influenced by Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Howard Marks, and Josh Peters (former editor of a Dividend Investing Newsletter). My focus is on company earnings, buybacks, and dividends.
I started to sell options in 2011. It was mostly selling covered calls and cash-secured puts. I still do these things but now can do it on portfolio margin (my puts don’t have to be cash-secured in full). I will occasionally do spreads if I see something interesting. I am mostly influenced by Tom Sosnoff here and others from his crew. I am primarily an options seller but will buy on occasion.
I started to day trade futures in summer of 2024, which is the primary purpose of this blog. I haven’t gotten comfortable with day trading in a consistent way and that’s my goal. I found myself being pulled into aiming for huge daily gains and got myself stuck in a boom and bust cycle.
Then I had an epiphany in the fall of 2025 that made me realize that I am trying to go way too fast. I also noticed that so many others are doing the same too. A lot of boom and bust when it comes to prop firm traders. I’ve seen some amazing verified traders making huge profits too (not me by the way), but I found that most traders are struggling. I hope my blog helps ground you in healthy habits.
What this blog isn’t
I don’t run a Discord. I don’t give signals. I don’t do “mentorships” (I’m not even good at trading anyways). If you ever get a message from “me” saying they can help you in exchange for money, then it isn’t me. I am only saying this because apparently the trading industry is littered with scams. I would NEVER.
